Let's Be Drug FreeLove Yourself! Be Drug-Free! Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention program. Schools and communities across the United States show their commitment to a healthy, drug-free lifestyle by raising awareness during Red Ribbon Week. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in drug prevention education activities with students, faculty, and families. This year’s theme for Cumberland County Schools is “ELECT TO BE DRUG-FREE”. Here are several ideas to help your Red Ribbon Week celebration be the best it can be. Tuesday: Turn Your Back on Drugs (wear your shirt backward), Wednesday: Wear a Hat to Put a Lid on Drugs, Thursday: Team Up Against Drugs (wear your favorite team jersey, shirt, or Super Hero shirt) and Friday: Wear your Sunglasses for a Bright Future saying No To Drugs.

Ms. Phillips accepting school supplies from Carroll Memorial Baptist ChurchA huge Thank You goes out to Carroll Memorial Baptist Church for their HUGE donation of school supplies to South View Middle School. The church celebrated “Christmas” is September sponsored by Joan Holland and the ladies organization at the church and collected items for the students all month. Items collected include notebook paper, composition books, spiral notebooks, pencils, pens, scissors, index cards, erasers, pencil pouches, hand sanitizer, tissues, and much more. Supplies will be made available to our students as they continue to work from home. So far this 20-21 school year has had its challenges; but our district, school, and community pulling together are what gives hope to a bright future ahead.
