Mr. McIntosh SVMS Teacher of the YearCongratulations to Dawayne McIntosh, CTE Teacher, for being named South View Middle School’s Teacher of the Year. Mr. McIntosh has a great rapport with his students and coworkers. He not only gives everything he has to his classes while teaching, he helps run our SGA and PBIS programs. Mr. McIntosh is Google certified and teaches professional development for CCS. We are so blessed here at South View Middle to have Mr. Dawayne McIntosh as one of our family members.

Let's Be Drug FreeMonday (23), the JS2S Club will educate SVMS on the Purpose and History of Red Ribbon Week.  Tuesday (24), students may choose a friend to dress identical to for “Double our Defenses” against drugs (Twin Day). Wednesday (25), students may wear a pink shirt with their uniform pants in “Support of Breast Cancer Awareness.”  Thursday (26), students may wear a Wacky Tacky Tie to accessorize as we are “Tied to a Healthy Lifestyle, ” and a pair of crazy socks for “Sock it To Drugs.”  Must be in regular uniform. Friday (27), we will conclude Red Ribbon Week with our Fall Picture Day.  Students may dress down on Friday for pictures.  Dress for Success so your picture will look good in the Yearbook. This one time you do not have to wear a SVMS t-shirt with your jeans. We hope you look forward to celebrating Red Ribbon Week.

Urgent Take care of ImmediatelyFederal Cards go home Tuesday, October 17th. We need them back, signed by a parent in blue or black ink and dated in the same ink on Wednesday, October 18th. Please make every effort to get your child’s card back on time and properly signed and dated. It is imperative that we receive 100% of our Federal Cards. Students returning Federal Cards on the 18th will receive 20 PBIS Reward points and will help their homeroom receive a pizza party.

Bobcat, mascot of South View Middle School. Winter Sports begin on Monday, November 13 – with tryouts/practice and ends on Friday, November 17. Physicals and all paperwork must be completed and signed off by Mrs. Rogers in order to tryout. Winter Sports include Boys’ and Girls’ Basketball and Wrestling.  Sports are now open to all grade levels, 6th, 7th, and 8th. (except football)
Please use this site _ARBITERLIVE_ to register your child for all the sports they want to play this year. Please select the “Pre-participation” tab on the left of the  page under the team logo, where you will find video tutorials on their site to assist you in registering your child.  Please contact Libby Rogers, Athletic Director, if you have any questions. Games begin November 30. Girls and Boys Basketball is at Home against New Century MS starting at 4pm. Wrestling is Away at New Century.
