Monday, September 3rd, students and teachers will observe Labor Day.  Cumberland County Schools will be closed.

Tryouts for girls interested in volleyball will begin Wednesday, August 29th from 2:30 – 4:30pm. Please wait for the coaches outside of the gym doors. You must have a 2012 Cumberland County Sports Physical and a 2012 Middle School Athletic Participation Form completely filled out – both can be found on the SVMS website.  Be sure to bring shorts, t-shirts and shoes. Parents must have transportation for their child at 4:30pm.

Football Tryouts are August 27-31 at SVMS from 3-5pm.  Please wait for the coaches outside of the gym doors at 2:45 each day.  You must have a 2012 Cumberland County Sports Physical and a 2012 Middle School Athletic Participation Form completely filled out – both can be found on the SVMS website.  Be sure to bring shorts, t-shirts, shoes, and football cleats if you already own a pair.  Parents must have transportation for their child at 5pm.

Students first day of school for the 2012-2013 school year has arrived. Students should arrive at school no earlier than 7:00am and will be tardy at 7:30am. School will be dismissed at 2:30pm. We all are looking forward to a successful school year at South View Middle.

Sports Physicals will be offered at South View Middle School on Monday, August 20, 2012 from 9:00am to 11:30am.  The cost is $15 cash.  Students planning to tryout for any sport (including pepsquad) at any Cumberland County School must have a physical.

August 3, 4, and 5 – Take advantage of Tax-Free Weekend. Shop for clothes, school supplies, electronics, and much more that will help your child with a successful school year.

We are so excited about our new 2012-2013 school year!  Please come out to see the school, meet teachers and administrators, and get your student(s) ready for the first day of school, August, 27th. We look forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

Please make sure students are in school and on time the week of January 14-17 and January 22-23 as we will be administering Growth Assesments in Reading, Math, and Science. January 14-15 is Reading, January 16-17 is Math, and January 22-23 is Science. January 17 is the end of the 2nd 9 weeks and the first semester.

The Band Concerts originally scheduled for December have been resecheduled for Monday, January 14, 2013 in the South View High School auditorium. 6th graders will perform at 6pm, 7th graders at 7pm, and 8th graders at 8pm. Please come out and support Band Director Becky Bryant and our talented Bobcat band students.
